Remo Vintage Roto Tom Set, 8" and 16" w/Stand, Second Generation
This set is truly an amazing vintage drum find and unlike any others that we've had in the shop. This is a
very early Remo Roto Tom Set with the original stand and the original fiber drum heads! We believe these to be second generation Roto Toms featuring die cast frame parts that predate the mass produced models that feature chrome plating or black powder coating. Just an incredible find also featuring the 1st generation Remo bar mounting system. The original plastic molded Roto Toms had to be mounted to a sheet of plywood. These drums and mounting hardware brought this instrument out of it's sole use in the classical world and made it practical for use in the drum set world for decades to come. Pick up these drums and own a piece of history in addition to a very playable instrument.
These drums currently have their original Remo Fiberskyn heads mounted. The 16" is playable still but the 8 will require a new head for playing purposes. Let us know your head preference and we'll work out a deal that includes modern heads in addition to the originals.
