USED Slingerland 14x14 Floor Tom, Light Blue Pearl, 1963

USED Slingerland 14x14 Floor Tom, Light Blue Pearl, 1963

This drum is AMAZING! It's got 2 querks. Like so many floor toms this age, the shoulder screws for the spring loaded leg brackets were missing. We have been able to source stainless steel shoulder screws that are not exact but they work perfectly allowing the player to continue to use the stock leg assembly. There are 3 added holes to this drum. The original owner shifted the floor tom brackets down so that the drum would stand taller. In addition this required arcs to be cut out of the reinforcing hoops. A truly unfortunate mod to an otherwise mint drum but, atleast it looks like it was skillfully done.

This drum looks and sounds beautiful and this size and finish is so iconic. The Light Blue Pearl wrap is tight to the shell, no bubbles and the seam is secure. There is 1 rectangle of fade where it seems someting adhesive had been applied.  All of the chrome looks good except for some mild pitting, common for the age of the instrument. With the exception of the heads and the afore mentioned shoulder screws, all of the parts appear to be original incluting a Slingerland accessory bracket installed near the top of the shell.
